About dblWiDE

dblWiDE combines the talents of veteran front man, The Colonel, with ravin' Johnnie Raven on lead guitar, the legendary Billy Bob on Bass, and Larry "Sweet-T" Thompson pounding the drums. dblWiDE ROCKS with that '50s retro-rockabilly wildman energy

The Band:  The Colonel (Charles Martin)
                         Billy Bob (Billy Fritzius)
                         Johnnie Raven (Ron Jones)
                         Larry "Sweet T" Thompson

Influences:  Elvis (from 1954 to 1958 - pre-GI Elvis; before he was ruint by the
Colonel), Johnny Horton, Dwight Yoakam, Rev. Horton Heat, Johnny
Paycheck, Hank Williams, Sr., Carl Perkins, Patsy Cline, Gene
Vincent (and of course his Blue Caps), and last but not least the
                          incomparable Bill Monroe

Sounds Like:  Think Hank Williams, Sr. in the back seat of a Cadillac just after
new years 1953, or that first Sun recording session where Elvis
met Bill Black and Scotty Moore in 1954 or Carl Perkins and his
brothers setting up in an Arkansas honky tonk with sawdust on the
floor, or Bill Monroe and his Bluegrass Boys playing in Cincinnati
for the first time and really lettin' loose, or Gene Vincent crooning
to some rockabilly kitten he knows he's gonna score with after the
show, or all those late 1950's rockabilly wild men who got the
beat from Elvis, recorded those ultra-revved up county tunes,
                               but died in obscurity.
